A native of Chicago, Alexa received her Bachelor Degree in Business Management from
Dillard University, and received her MFA in Theater from the University of Illinois. She
has performed onstage with the Illinois Repertory Theatre in productions of “Three
Ways Home”, “Native Son”, “A Raisin in the Sun”, and “Wedding Band” and “Miss
Evers’ Boys” with the St. Louis Black Repertory Theater. After spending a few years
teaching speech and drama on both secondary and collegiate levels, and performing in
Children’s Theater, Alexa took the leap and moved to Los Angeles.
Since her arrival in Los Angeles, Alexa has taken to the stage in such memorable
performances as “Rachel” in “Metri’s Window”at Stage 52 in Los Angeles (which was
nominated for an NAACP Theater Award for Best Ensemble in 2003), “Mattie” in “Stage
Door” at the Long Beach Playhouse, and LaToya in the independent film, “Thomas in
Bloom”. Alexa has also performed in several industrials for Walt Disney Productions. In
2006, Alexa received her Screen Actor’s Guild Eligibility while working on the film
“The Hangover” Part 1.
Alexa wrote and produced a staged reading of her play “Grace Without A Song”
at the Academy of New Musical Theatre in North Hollywood, CA.
